P.P. Pokemon Cave Mural

One of the most complete cave paintings discovered, it is unique in that the framing of hand prints and the somewhat symmetrical positioning of the pokemon suggest that it is a complete composition, not simply several images in close proximity to each other.

Another noteworthy aspect of the mural is that it contains one of the earliest known depictions of a so called "shining" pokemon.

It is unknown exactly what this mural depicts. The appearance of an Absol in the work suggests it may be a record of some sort of disaster, which is supported by the herds of 'stampeding' animals, however they are running in opposite directions. Some researchers suggest that it may show a battle between a Lugia and a Ho-oh, however another, more cryptic, interpretation is that the legendaries themselves are also fleeing in terror...
